Veterinary Hospital F – Central Kansas

This successful and well-managed veterinary practice is located on the outskirts of a historic town within driving distance of a major university and military community. This companion animal, full-service hospital was established almost 30 years ago by the current owners, a husband and wife team. They provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic services to companion / small animals. The business facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy and in-hospital surgery suite, in-house digital x-ray and ultrasound capabilities, in-house dental radiography, a six station Cornerstone Practice Management software system, and indoor boarding kennels.

The owner and chief veterinarian of the practice is nearing retirement age and would like to pass on the reigns of the practice in the next 2-5 years. The practice currently employs two other associate veterinarians. Another seven support staff are also employed in either full-time or part-time capacities. The sale would include all of the assets, equipment, supplies and a well-established client list. The real estate and facilities are owned by the owner who would prefer that these assets transfer with the business. The business has grown steadily over the past 30 years and currently produces $860K in gross revenues (2012). Profit margins for the business are estimated to be 12% -16% ($110K - $ 140K) and will generate sufficient cash flows to a new owner to service some debt financing. Annual discretionary cash flow earnings to a new owner, i.e. adjusted EBITDA, are estimated to be more than $275K. The estimated value from operations of this practice would be in the $500K - $650K range (which excludes receivables, inventory and facilities).
